If we take the “calories in a pound of potatoes” statistic and average it up, it’s a very interesting statistic indeed. The average American woman eats about 2,000 calories per day. That’s nearly 4,000 calories per day for a woman who is overweight.
That’s an average of about 1,700 calories per day for someone who is obese, which is a lot of calories. And it goes to show how obesity is related to eating. In particular, obesity can increase the risk of diabetes and heart disease.
Obesity is a major risk factor for diabetes and heart disease, so it would seem that it is related to diabetes and heart disease. However, it is not the only reason for obesity. It can also be a result of other factors such as unhealthy eating and physical exercise. I know that these factors aren’t really a big deal for most people, but my point is that a lot of people are overweight because of an unhealthy lifestyle.

However, the difference between a person with a high total body mass, and a person who’s just fat around the waist, is that while people who are slim are generally healthy, people who are heavy all over, especially if they’re diabetic, can be unhealthy.
It’s true that fat in general is associated with increased risk of heart disease, and fat on its own is associated with increased risk of diabetes, but the connection between fat and diabetes is not well understood. As a result, we have no way of knowing whether a person who is overweight has diabetes because they have fat around the belly, or because they have diabetes. We just don’t have any data on this.
This is why the study of the role of food and weight in diabetes is so important. It may be that people who are overweight have a harder time managing their blood sugar because of a lack of good nutrition. Or it may be that people who are overweight have a harder time managing their blood sugar because their blood sugar is too high.
You can tell a lot about a person based on their diet. People who get a lot of fat in their diet tend to have a higher risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
